Philosophy of care | I believe in forming a partnership with my patients and taking the time to be a good listener. I try to follow the best evidence-based medicine guidelines for testing and treatment. I enjoy working to promote healthy lifestyles and preventative care to keep you well. I believe it is important to work together with you to create a plan of care that's right for you. I will try to be your advocate and help coordinate all of your care needs as your primary care physician. I also have a special interest in geriatrics and long-term care medicine. It is my goal to provide older adults and nursing home residents the highest-quality, compassionate care for optimum health, function, and quality of life. | Why I entered medicine | I became a doctor because I want to make each and every day meaningful, and make a positive impact on your health. I chose internal medicine because it allows me to establish long-term relationships with my patients. I truly enjoy the follow-up care and ongoing relationships I have with my patients, welcoming back the same patients again and again. It is my goal to help manage all of your health care needs - promoting healthy lifestyles, managing chronic conditions, treating illness and coordinating the transition between specialists, hospitals, and other caregivers. I believe it is important for every patient to have one physician who can act as a coordinator of care and to be involved at some level in all of their health care needs. | Community involvement | I serve as the medical director for both Gracedale Nursing Home in Northampton County and The Good Shepherd Home in Bethlehem. | Personal interests | I have been married to my wonderful wife Jennifer since 1998. When I am not at work I enjoy helping her with her jewelry business on weekends. I am also the proud father of two beautiful daughters. Some of my hobbies include running, gardening, hiking and playing with my energetic Chesapeake Bay retriever and our two cats. I've been doing this for more than 10 years, and you build a relationship with your patients. I like to catch up, see how they're doing, ask about their family, vacations. | Why I entered medicine | My father was a doctor, and that had an impact on me when I was growing up. | Personal interests | My greatest passion in life is my family -- my wife and my two daughters. That's the most important thing to me. I spend a lot of time with the family, and I like to fish. We're big Eagles fans, and I have season tickets.
