Overview
For me, trust is the keystone upon which I form the relationships with my patients. Trust is important when asking a patient to share details of problems that can often be embarrassing. And trust is important when asking a patient to let me help them solve their problems, some of which may have been ongoing for years. In order to build that trust, I show my patients warmth and compassion, I listen fully and intently, and I show my patients a warmer side of medicine. My parents immigrated from El Salvador and made it a point to raise me bilingual. This helps me connect more deeply with a group of patients who might not otherwise be completely understood.I enjoy the clinical variety that Gastroenterology provides. The complexity of the health and disease of the GI tract challenges my mind. At the same time, I always enjoy the hands-on element that the procedures provide. I am methodical and detail-oriented on the one hand, yet warm and friendly on the other. I always make sure to educate my patients fully, so they can make informed decisions and take an active role in their own care.Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Castillo drags her family to the beach as often as possible. She also enjoys playing princess with her young daughter, getting lost in comedy and action movies/TV, and rooting for the Denver Broncos with her borderline fanatical husband.Our mission is to provide the highest quality medical care in a supportive and comprehensive enviroment. We focus on each patient as an individual, taking the time to effect the best out comes.
