Dr. Arthur Grant

"Dr. Arthur ""Chip"" Grant specializes in interventional cardiology at Ochsner Health. Dr. Grant has dedicated his career to advancing cardiovascular care through clinical practice, innovation, research and education. He trained in Internal Medicine at Duke University Hospital and completed fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology at Ochsner Medical Center. He joined the Ochsner faculty with an early focus on complex coronary and peripheral interventions, contributing to the evolution of techniques and clinical approaches for high-risk patients. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions, the American Heart Association, and the Society for Vascular Medicine,In 2009, Dr. Grant moved his practice to Mobile, Alabama, where he helped develop and lead a comprehensive structural heart and complex coronary program. Under his direction, the program became one of the first in Alabama to perform transcatheter aortic valve replacement, ushering in a new era of minimally invasive cardiac care in the region.In 2013, Dr. Grant founded Watershed Health, a technology company focused on improving health outcomes. Drawing on his clinical background, he led the development of a platform that supports timely communication and coordination among care teams, especially for patients with complex needs. Today, Watershed is used by thousands of providers and supports the care of millions of patients annually.Dr. Grant returned to New Orleans in 2016, to serve as director of the Department of Cardiology at a federally qualified health center. He also joined the faculty at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center and University Medical Center.In 2024, 20 years after first arriving at Ochsner as a cardiology fellow, Dr. Grant rejoined the institution. His return reflects a desire to bring his experience full circle to contribute to Ochsner's tradition of excellence, expand its interventional capacity, and help shape the future of cardiovascular care through teaching, research, and innovation.".
