Dr. Luis Retamozo

Board Certified by the American Board of Family Practice, Dr. Retamozo offers comprehensive medical care for children and adults of all ages. Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Retamozo’s span of care encompasses treating acute illness, managing chronic conditions and providing generalized wellness care. Dr. Retamozo has been with Texas Health Medical Associates since June of 2008 and has since maintained a strong medical presence in his local community.Dr. Retamozo earned his medical degree at Guadalajara Autonomous University in Guadalajara, Mexico in 1975. From 1975-1976 he fulfilled internship requirements at Interboro General Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Retamozo then went on to complete a surgical residency at National Medical Center in Mexico City in 1984 and a family practice residency at University of Texas, Hermann/LBJ Hospitals and Community Health Centers in Houston, Texas in 1994.Dr. Retamozo has practiced family medicine in Texas for almost 20 years. Most recently, he has served as an assistant professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center in the Department of Family Medicine and a family physician at the Diamond Hill JPS Clinic. His extensive experience in family medicine encompasses urgent care centers, hospital-based practice, pediatric clinics and private practice, including a family practice at Huguley from 2002 to 2004.
