He has given a plethora of invited lectures around the world, all involving his principal field of esophageal and gastrointestinal cancer research. He has been the recipient of numerous prestigious national and international awards, including the Robert and Sally D. Funderburg Award in Gastric Cancer Biology and membership in the American Society for Clinical Investigation.
