Stephen Wong, MD, MS, is a neurologist and the Director of Epilepsy at Atlantic Health. He is board-certified in Neurology and Epilepsy by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, and in Advanced Central Clinical Neurophysiology with added competency in Epilepsy Monitoring by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Wong has over 20 years of experience in the medical treatment of epilepsy, electroencephalography (EEG), epilepsy monitoring, long-term video-EEG monitoring, and the pre-surgical workup for epilepsy surgery. He has special interests in the application of machine learning methods for event detection in clinical neurophysiology. Additionally, he has worked as a neuro-hospitalist for nearly 20 years throughout the Tri-State Area.An avid educator and researcher, Dr. Wong served as a mentor to many residents, graduate students, and medical school junior faculty. He served as Principal Investigator on several clinical trials of medical devices and pharmaceutical products to treat various forms of epilepsy. Dr. Wong has a long list of professional, scientific, and clinical presentations and has been a guest lecturer and an advisory board member at the American Institute of Medical Sciences for their Neurodiagnostic Technician program. In addition, he is the author of three book chapters and dozens of peer-reviewed scientific and medical publications. He holds two patents for his work in clinical neurophysiology.After earning his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, NC, Dr. Wong completed his residency in neurology and fellowship in epilepsy at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a translational research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, for which he earned a Master’s degree.
