Overview
Dr. Matthew Johnson is a board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at SIU Medicine. With more than a decade of experience at SIU, he specializes in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, with a strong clinical focus on pediatric cleft and craniofacial care.
Dr. Johnson completed his internship and residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, followed by advanced fellowship training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY. His fellowship included extensive training in pediatric cleft lip and palate repair, speech surgery, facial bone grafting, mandibular and craniofacial distraction osteogenesis, cranial vault surgery (open, endoscopic, and distraction techniques), ear reconstruction including microtia repair, and nasal reconstruction.
His practice encompasses both complex reconstructive and aesthetic procedures.
