Dr. Sand earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina's School of Medicine where he graduated with Honors. He completed his surgical internship and residency in Urology at New York University Medical Center. He received his undergraduate degree in Microbiology from the University of Georgia, graduating with First Honor status. Prior to joining Piedmont Physicians Urology Specialists, Dr. Sand was the Chief Resident in Urology at the New York University Medical Center where he trained with national experts in prostate cancer, Robotic Surgery, Urologic stone disease, and Female Urologic disorders.
