Dr. Kelvin K. Hong is an Associate Professor and Executive Vice Chair of Radiology within the Johns Hopkins Department of Radiology. A specialist in interventional and vascular radiology, Dr. Hong serves as the Medical Director of the Johns Hopkins Interventional Radiology Center. Dr. Hong earned his medical degree from South Africa’s University Of Witwatersrand Medical School in Parktown. He completed a radiology residency at Parktown West’s College of Medicine/Radiology, as well as a cardiovascular/interventional radiology fellowship and diagnostic radiology residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. His areas of clinical expertise include bone, liver and soft-tissue tumors; chronic total occlusions; claudication; deep venous thrombosis; lung, esophageal and kidney cancer; peripheral arterial/vascular disease; renal artery/vascular disease; uterine fibroid tumors; varicocele; and vascular malformations and venous thromboembolism. Dr. Hong performs procedures that include radiofrequency ablation for lung, liver, kidney and bone lesions; transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for liver cancer; lower-extremity angioplasty and stenting; visceral angioplasty and stenting; embolization of uterine fibroid tumors; cryoablation for pain control; and percutaneous laser ablation of varicose veins. Dr. Hong served as editor for the book Percutaneous Tumor Ablation and contributed to Interventional Oncology: Principles and Practice. Dr. Clifford Weiss is a Professor of Radiology and Radiological Science. He also holds appointments in Surgery and Biomedical Engineering. Additionally, he serves as Medical Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Bioengineering Innovation and Design (CBID), the Director of the Johns Hopkins HHT Center of Excellence as well as Director of the Johns Hopkins Vascular Anomalies Center. Dr. Weiss' clinical focus lies in vascular and interventional radiology with a particular focus on the diagnosis and treatment of vascular malformations. This includes venous and lymphatic malformations, arteriovenous malformations, pulmonary arteriovenous malformations and Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) and varicoceles. Dr. Weiss also is a pioneer in the use of MRI for interventional guidance (iMRI), especially for the treatment of vascular malformations. Dr. Weiss' research focuses primarily on the preclinical and clinical development of Bariatric Embolization, a new endovascular procedure designed to help fight obesity, and on the development of new embolic therapies and devices. Dr. Weiss is the Deputy Editor of Interventional Content for the journal Radiology. Dr. Weiss received his B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1995, his M.D. from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2001. He completed an internship in internal medicine on the Osler Service in 2002, his residency in Diagnostic Radiology in 2007, and a Fellowship in Vascular and Interventional radiology in 2008, all at The Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a Fellow both of the Society of Interventional Radiology (SIR) and of Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). Dr. Abhishek Srinivas received his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 2006. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the Montefiore Medical Center of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 2011. This was followed by a fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 2012. Prior to joining Johns Hopkins as faculty, Dr. Srinivas established an interventional oncology practice serving much of central New Jersey, and a local hub for patients affiliated with Hahnemann University Hospital’s liver transplant program in Philadelphia. During this time, Dr. Srinivas was also part of the neuroradiology team for the hospital’s stroke center. His primary areas of expertise include interventional oncology (liver, kidney and bone cancers), vascular disease (deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, aneurysm treatment), uterine fibroid embolization, spine interventions, and advanced biliary interventions.
