Dr. Matthew Martinez is director of Atlantic Health Sports Cardiology at Morristown Medical Center and a nationally recognized expert in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). He specializes in identifying and treating athletes who have underlying heart issues such as arrhythmia or HCM, a hereditary medical condition where the walls of the heart become excessively thick, obstructing blood flow from leaving the heart.
