He completed his residency in neurology at the Harvard Neurology Residency Program of Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and his pain-fellowship in the Department of Anesthesia of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. He completed his doctoral and post-doctoral training focusing on molecular pain mechanisms at the University of Heidelberg, Germany and at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston under the guidance of Clifford Woolf.His current research interest focuses on the translation from the science of pain in the lab to its application in clinical practice with the eventual goal to improve diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions. Dr. Vardeh has published his work in renowned international journals including the Journal of Pain, the Journal of Neuroscience, the Journal of Clinical Investigation, and has presented at many international conferences.As the Neurology Director of the Pain Fellowship Program at the Brigham, he enjoys teaching residents and fellows.
