He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Uzcategui is a published author in peer reviewed journals and chapters in Oculoplastic textbooks. He has been an invited guest lecturer at numerous scientific meetings and Ophthalmology Departments nationally and internationally.
