      Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common lung disease. Having COPD makes it hard to breathe.

      There are two main forms of COPD:

In more advanced cases, life expectancy may be shorter, but early diagnosis, regular care, and lifestyle changes can still make a big difference.
