I’m a former high school teacher turned doctor. I made the move because I realized that I could make a real difference in the lives of children through medicine. Today, I treat children with a wide range of thyroid, hormone, and other endocrine disorders. I’m married, with two grown children, and I’m an avid movie fan. I taught high school for three years before going to medical school and becoming a pediatric endocrinologist. I like helping people and soon learned that the best way to accomplish that is to concentrate on each individual patient as I see them. It’s very satisfying when I can provide the correct diagnosis and treatment for the child, and relief for the child’s family. I am passionate being a parent and sharing my knowledge with students who are training to become doctors. I enjoy mentoring our residents who are interested in pursuing a career in pediatric endocrinology. Dr. Doyle is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Congenital Hyperinsulinism. His top areas of expertise are Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS), Familial Short Stature (FSS), Short Stature (Growth Disorders), and RASopathies.

Anthony Gannon, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician and internist who specializes in endocrine disorders for children and adults. His practice is geared towards treatment of complex endocrine disease, endocrine tumors and helping teenagers transition to adult care. I chose to train as a pediatric endocrinologist because I consider it a privilege and joy to work together with children and their families with the goal of helping them to better understand and control their diseases.I see the purpose of my practice to teach and empower children and families so that they can achieve their goals in treatment and in life. My practice is unique in that I am also a practicing adult endocrinologist. This means I’m able to provide clinical follow-up to children as they become adults, and also to help prepare them, and their families, for the transition into adult clinics. I specialized in endocrinology because the hormone systems are complicated, but fascinating, and I think there’s tremendous opportunity to improve the quality of life for patients. I’m interested in working with children of all ages who have complex endocrine disease, including endocrine tumors.I chose to complete separate pediatric and adult training programs so that I could be best equipped to assist children and their families to move more smoothly through the transition process into adult clinics. I am excited to be part of the Nemours Children’s Health System because this has enabled me to partner with Christiana Care Health System to form a true endocrinology transitions program. Endocrinology is a unique field because there is no single answer for every family, and this allows a lot of room for personalization of care. I think the most valuable tool I have to offer families is to provide education and empower them to manage their diseases and to achieve the goals that are most important to them. Dr. Gannon is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Congenital Hyperinsulinism. His top areas of expertise are Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), Pediatric Growth Hormone Deficiency, Diabetes Insipidus (DI), and Neurohypophyseal Diabetes Insipidus.

Dr. Evan Graber is a board-certified pediatrician who specializes in pediatric endocrinology. He has authored several papers about endocrine disorders. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Osteopathic Association, the Pediatric Endocrine Society and the Endocrine Society. I worked a lot with children throughout high school and college and I have always felt like I establish a good rapport with children and their families. I love coming to work every day.Endocrinology always interested me because it’s a field that allows a physician to follow a patient from childhood until he or she “graduates” to adult medical care. It’s really important for me to be able to see these kids grow and succeed, as well as being able to form a relationship with their families. I also enjoy the problem-solving aspect of endocrinology, where I can put the pieces of the puzzle together to get a diagnosis and hopefully improve my patients’ quality of life. Every child is different, every family is different, and I like to be able to personalize medical care. I also think establishing a dialogue with families is very important when it comes to providing good patient care. I am passionate about advocating for my patients. It’s amazing to me that in 2015, there is still a lot of misunderstanding about how to handle conditions like diabetes —mostly from community members who might interact with kids with diabetes. They’re scared of the condition because they’re not familiar with the care involved with diabetes treatment the way the families are. I think it’s important to make people comfortable with it, and help them understand that kids with diabetes can live like everyone else, and that there are set protocols that we teach children and families — there’s nothing to be scared of. When I describe diabetes to children I explain that they’re just like everyone else, they just have to do a little “extra.” I think it’s important to spread that message. I try to keep the lines of communication open between the families I treat and me. I want my patients to understand why I’m doing a given test. I find that families are more willing to discuss options when they understand their care, and they appreciate when I discuss why I’m choosing a certain treatment. It results in a better relationship with the family, and that improves patient care.I also try to make myself as accessible as I can. I’ll call families with test results, and will make time to see families if they need to come to the hospital to discuss things with me personally. I’ll advocate for my patients with insurance companies or pharmacies to get medications cleared. I want my patient families to know that I’ll work with them to make sure they get the best care possible. Dr. Graber is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Congenital Hyperinsulinism. His top areas of expertise are Short Stature (Growth Disorders), Familial Short Stature (FSS), Idiopathic Short Stature (ISS), Precocious Puberty, and Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
