Dr. James R. Kelly
Overview
James R. Kelly, M.D. is the Director of Refractive Surgery Education at Northwell Health and
the Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital (MEETH). He has over 30 years of surgical
experience, with a specialty in cataract and refractive surgery, including LASIK, SMILE, PRK,
EVO ICL, Intacs, refractive lens exchange (RLE), corneal crosslinking, and laser cataract
surgery. Dr. Kelly is a graduate of Columbia University and received his medical degree from
Cornell University Medical College. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at
Suny Winthrop University Hospital and his Ophthalmology Residency at the Manhattan
Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. He is board-certified by the American Board of
Ophthalmology. In addition to his educational role, he is the founder and Medical Director
of Kelly Vision, a private practice established in 1998. He is a Fellow of the American
Academy of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Society of Cataract
and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS), International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), New
York Intraocular Lens Implant Society (NYIOLIS), NY State Ophthalmological Society, and
the Refractive Surgery Alliance.
