Dr. William Bynum
Overview
As a family medicine doctor, I have the privilege of caring for patients and families of diverse ages and backgrounds. I strive to provide personalized, empathic, and competent care, and I view the doctor-patient relationship as an alliance in which we work together and learn from one another. I work hard to remain updated on current best practices and guidelines while also respecting patient autonomy and attending to the challenges that inhibit the easy navigation of the health care system. Additionally, I have to great honor of teaching medical and physician assistant students and family medicine residents, and I view the education of our next generation of medical providers as a top priority. Finally, my research focuses on how medical learners and providers experience the emotion of shame, and I strive to create safe, shame-free learning and clinical environments for learners and patients alike.
