To do so, it's important to treat each patient with respect and listen carefully to their concerns and include them when formulating a treatment plan. | Why I entered medicine | I entered medicine due to a deep-seated desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others. I was initially a nurse, which was very rewarding – I enjoyed the responsibility of helping to care for the sick and vulnerable. I then decided to attend medical school after working with physicians and seeing the various ways they help patients. | Personal interests | I enjoy traveling and have visited several countries in Europe, Asia and Africa.
