I grew up on Florida's Space Coast in Cocoa Beach. It was a very family-oriented, bilingual home. When I'm away from the office, I enjoy reading and traveling. When I was 12, it was my pediatrician who explained my father’s heart disease to my sister and me — equating the condition to when cheese gets stuck in the macaroni noodle. I enjoy explaining things to my patients at their level, making sure they understand as much as possible. I involve the kids I see and their families — together — in each child's health care. My favorite part of pediatrics is making strong relationships with my patients and their families. It is with these relationships that we have the tools to ensure that children grow up to be as healthy and strong as possible. I can think of no other place where one gets to treat patients who are planning to become future pirates, policemen, princesses, astronauts and ninjas. Each stage of growing up comes with its own joys and hurdles. I work to arm parents of newborns with the information to help them tackle those many “firsts” and to prevent illness. I encourage school-aged children to learn healthy choices, make goals and pursue their dreams. I also work to create a safe environment for teens to be heard, and to promote open communication with the adults in their lives — I encourage them to take control of their health. My hope is not only to help patients and families navigate these stages, but also to help them understand how illness may affect childhood milestones. My goal is to work as a team with patients and families to come up with the best solutions. I grew up here in Central Florida. After high school I went to University of Florida, then decided to brave the cold weather in Milwaukee for medical school. I joined the U.S. Navy and did my pediatric internship at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.I loved pediatrics and caring for children. After my internship, my country needed me to serve the troops as a Naval flight surgeon. While it took me away from my first love of pediatrics, it offered me so many unique experiences flying in airplanes and helicopters and caring for our Marine and Naval air crew. I got to travel the world from Japan to Korea and even to Iraq. After exiting the Navy, I completed my residency at Duke University in pediatrics. As a U.S. Marine Corps spouse, I practiced in multiple U.S. cities as well as Japan (again). I love that I am back into pediatrics and Central Florida doing my life calling. I love general pediatrics because there is such a variety of visits from treating sick children to helping kids meet their milestones to just watching kids grow into healthy, well-adjusted adults. Pediatrics allows us to really make a difference through prevention and guidance. Overall, I am passionate about giving your child the brightest future while keeping them feeling healthy and well. I am very experienced in mental health and manage a lot of ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Seeing the progression of development in a young baby to a toddler and teen is heartwarming for me. Outside of work I enjoy traveling, reading, doing puzzles, and Peloton. I have even visited the Peloton studio. I love vacationing and hanging out with my two children who are entering the teen years (scary but rewarding). I try to give parents tools and education to make their children as healthy and happy as possible. As a mom of two, I relate to the trials and tribulations of parenting. Dr. Kushnir is rated as an Advanced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Developmental Dysphasia Familial. I am honored and humbled to be trusted with the care of your children. It can be overwhelming when our children go through illness or struggles. I want my families to know I am here for them and they can reach out to me at any time. We are in this together. Children are easygoing, innocent and spontaneous. Their joy in small things is contagious. It is beautiful to hold a newborn and experience the wonder of a new life. Watching the unconditional love of a parent or grandparent and sharing in the joy they feel when their child achieves different milestones gives me immense happiness. Helping the vulnerable is especially important to me, as is preventing stress and stress-related diseases. I want to help children and families gain confidence in managing their health. I enjoy connecting parents to resources and teaching them how to use natural remedies whenever possible. It is immensely rewarding whenever I am able to guide a family through their challenges. I come from a small town in India and feel grateful my parents instilled kindness and compassion in me from a young age. I listen carefully to my patients and families and try to understand everything that affects them. Teaming up with parents means we can work together to guide children to be healthy, happy and confident adults. I am very focused on helping children be the healthiest they can be in every way — physically, socially, emotionally — and supporting them to achieve their highest potential in a natural, stress-free way. Dr. Desiraju is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Developmental Dysphasia Familial. Dr. Christopher Culler grew up in Orlando, attended the University of Florida undergrad and University of Virginia for medical school. He completed his pediatrics training at Wake Forest University, followed by serving as chief resident. He has worked with multiple pediatrics groups, both private and academic. He returned to Florida in 2022 when he joined Nemours. I treat children because they are the best patients. Children make life grounded and meaningful. During medical school I came to realize that pediatric patients were the most interesting and fulfilling. Furthermore, being invited by the family into the care of their child is a deeply meaningful and sacred honor. I’m passionate about my patients and their families feeling known. I want them to feel comfortable and confident with their pediatrician. I have special interests in foster care, behavioral health, and medical education. I try to make a difference by approaching my patients with respect for their God-given dignity. My goal is for my patients and their families to be heard and understand the plan for their care. I grew up in a small town in Puerto Rico and moved to Florida in 2008 after completing my residency in Long Island, NY. I enjoy being a primary care pediatrician because it allows me to educate families to support their children’s development. I address a child’s well-being from all perspectives — physical, emotional and intellectual. My interest in pediatrics began during my rotation in medical school. I found that caring for children was immensely rewarding. Pediatrics involves a group of family-centered approaches to ensure a healthy development, and I enjoyed been part of that. Children always remind me what it's like to be happy, happy with the simple things in life. I am passionate about education and patient advocacy. One of the most important experiences I can provide for parents and their children is to talk and listen to them. I do my best to provide my patients the same level of care and compassion that I want for my own children. Dr. Rojas is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Developmental Dysphasia Familial. What is the definition of Developmental Dysphasia Familial?

Developmental dysphasia is a language disorder that develops in children. The disorder typically involves difficulties speaking and understanding spoken words. The symptoms cannot be attributed to sensorimotor, intellectual deficits, autism spectrum, or other developmental impairments. Likewise it does not occur as the consequence of an evident brain lesion or as a result of the child's social environment. Familial cases of developmental dyphasia have been described. In these families, the condition is inherited in an autosomal dominant fashion.

When should I see a Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor near Orlando, FL?

There are various reasons why you may want to see a specialist, such as:

    • Your primary care provider recommends it.
    • Your condition requires expert knowledge and specialized care.
    • Your symptoms persist or worsen despite treatment.
    • You need specialized testing or procedures.
    • You want a second opinion.

What should I consider when choosing a Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor near Orlando, FL?

It’s important to see a provider with expertise in your specific condition. Each provider profile in MediFind’s doctor database includes information on which conditions they treat, years of experience, research contributions, languages spoken, insurance plans accepted, and more.

How does MediFind rank Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctors near Orlando, FL?

MediFind’s rankings are based on a variety of data sources, such as the number of articles a doctor has published in medical journals, participation in clinical trials and industry conferences, as well as the number of patients that provider sees for a given condition. Note that MediFind’s provider database is not based on user reviews, and providers do not pay to be included in the database.

What types of insurance are accepted by Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctors near Orlando, FL?

Most profiles in MediFind’s doctor database include a list of insurance plans accepted by that provider. However, it’s a good idea to contact the provider’s office to make sure they still accept your insurance, then doublecheck by contacting your insurance plan to confirm they’re in network.

How can I book an appointment online with a Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor near Orlando, FL?

MediFind offers direct scheduling for certain providers using the “Request Appointment” button on that provider’s profile. If the schedule option is not available for a provider, tap the red “Show Phone Number” button on their profile to get their contact information. If you prefer to find providers who offer online scheduling, select “Schedules online” under the “Availability” category of the filter feature on the left side of the Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor search results page.

Why is it important to get a second opinion from a different Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor?

Second opinions are an opportunity to confirm a diagnosis and its root cause, learn about alternative treatment options, or simply gain peace of mind. Many people, especially those with serious diagnoses, get second opinions so they can understand all their options and make informed decisions, so don’t hesitate to get one if you have any doubts or need more information or clarification regarding your care. Note that some insurance plans require second opinions, while others don’t cover second opinions, so be sure to confirm with your insurance provider first.

How can I prepare for my appointment with a Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor near Orlando, FL?

Prepare for your appointment by gathering the following items:

    • Copies of medical records (dating back at least one year)
    • Your medical history, including illnesses, medical conditions, surgeries, and other doctors you see
    • Family history of disease
    • List of current prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal remedies or supplements including names and doses
    • Allergies to medications, food, latex, insects, etc.
    • List of questions and concerns
    • Your insurance card

You might also contact the provider’s office to see if they offer transportation or childcare services or if you’re allowed to bring a loved one for support or to take notes during your visit.

What questions should I ask my Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor?

    Here are some sample questions:

    • Can you explain in simple terms what this condition is and how it’s treated?
    • What symptoms or side effects should I watch for?
    • What tests will be involved, and when can I expect results?
    • Are there other specialists I need to see?
    • What’s the best way to reach you if I have follow-up questions?

How can I learn about the latest clinical trials and research advances my Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor may know about?

MediFind’s Clinical Trials tool asks you a series of questions to help you narrow down your search by health condition, age, gender, location, how far you’re willing to travel, and more. Each question you answer filters down the number of trials until you find the ones that are most relevant to you.

MediFind’s Latest Advances tool features summaries of recent articles published in medical journals. We use cutting-edge technology to scour medical publication databases for the latest research advancements on any given condition, then we simplify this information in a way that’s useful and easy to understand.

Can I filter my search to show male or female Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctors near Orlando, FL?

Look for the filter feature on the left side of the Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor search results page. Select “Female” or “Male” under the “Gender” category to search for female or male providers exclusively. If the “Any” option is selected, it will pull results for both male and female providers.

Can I filter my search to find a Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor that offers video calls?

Look for the filter feature on the left-side of the Developmental Dysphasia Familial doctor search results page. Select “Offers telehealth visits” under the Availability category to search for providers who offer virtual appointments (video calls).
