
Overview
Dr Joshua Tobin is a Haemato-Oncologist and Clinician-Scientist working at Brisbane Blood Specialists at Greenslopes Hospital, as a Staff Specialist Haematologist at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is a Senior Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Queensland.
After completing his medical degree at the Australian National University, he undertook his specialist physician training across the Mater Hospital, Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital and the Princess Alexandra Hospital. He completed a PhD focused on ‘immune therapies in non-Hodgkin lymphoma’ at the University of Queensland and went on to pursue a Lymphoma Fellowship at the globally renowned MD Anderson Cancer Centre in Houston, Texas. He is the past recipient of prestigious international awards for his clinical research including the American Society of Haematology Global Scholar Award and the American Society of Clinical Oncology ‘Cure Cancer’ Award, as well as national accolades from the Haematology Society of Australia and New Zealand and Snowdome Foundation.
Dr Tobin’s main passion in haematology is to improve outcomes for patients with haematological malignancies through access to clinical trials and translational research that better select therapies for individual patients. He holds a leadership position on the Australasian Leukaemia & Lymphoma Group working parties for lymphoma and for laboratory science and is a member for the Australasian Lymphoma Alliance.
