Overview
I spent five years doing plastic surgery for burn victims, during which time I saw many patients who had very limited function and suffered chronic pain. Physical medicine and rehabilitation attracted me because it focuses on the patient’s functional improvement and quality of life. I specialize in delivering individualized, integrated, and expedited care that helps my patients reach their functional goals. I perform image-guided interventional spine procedures, medical management and acupuncture. While my focus is on providing nonsurgical treatments, I am both fortunate and honored to closely partner with the exceptional spine surgeons at the Duke Spine Center. I look forward to meeting you and helping alleviate your back and neck pain.

I knew early-on that I didn’t want to pursue the surgical route of treating patients, I wanted to help people non-surgically. This led me to the field of physiatry/pain medicine, which offers non-surgical solutions to help patients dealing with pain. I specialize in helping patients with procedural and non-procedural treatment options. Some of the advanced techniques that I utilize include spine injections, image-guided procedures, and Botox for pain relief. Pain is very variable and affects people in different ways. I like to get to know my patients well, so I can make sure they are receiving the treatment that’s best for them. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my family.
