"During elementary and high school, I found that I had an interest and propensity towards the biological sciences. Exposure to the TV show Quincy M.E. and the autobiography of the doctor that show was based on, led me towards pathology. However, my biology curriculum at Ursinus College led me to employment as a research technician for a pharmaceutical company. As I explored furthering my academic career, I was exposed to a few interactions with people where I enjoyed providing listening and guidance. I was also exposed to a few family physicians and was impressed how they were able to combine making a difference in persons lives with the science of medicine. As I was prayerfully pondering my future academic path, a few friends told me ""out of the blue"" that I would make a good doctor.
