Dr. Skedros is also interested in advancing current basic understanding of the cause of osteoporosis. One of his research themes is basic bone adaptation, which finds application in helping understand why bones become brittle with age.Finally, Dr. Skedros has conducted studies on the role of knee arthroscopy in avoiding total knee replacements. About 20% of Dr. Skedros's practice involves knee arthroscopy and non-operative treatment of knees with arthritis or cartilage tears.
