Dr. Slidell is the author of dozens of peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters, and he is the editor of a surgical textbook entitled, Difficult Decisions in Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Slidell is a dedicated educator and mentor passionate about training the next generation of physicians, surgeons, and scientists. He is the Associate Program Director for the pediatric surgery fellowship training program at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, and he has received numerous teaching awards throughout his academic career. Dr. Slidell grew up in Maryland and attended medical school at Brown University, followed by a general surgery residency at Georgetown University Hospital. He obtained an M.P.H. at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC.
