Dr. Carmen Y. Folmar

Carmen Folmar, MD, FACOG is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has been practicing since 2016, seeing patients ages 13 and over at Saint Joseph Medical Group – Obstetrics & Gynecology, having chosen obstetrics/gynecology as her specialty because of its variety in day-to-day care for patients.Dr. Folmar’s areas of interest include pregnancy, routine gynecology care, contraception, menopause and menstrual disorders. Her approach closely involves the patient in their care: “I discuss patient concerns, give my recommendations and allow the patient to decide what works best for them,” she said.Dr. Folmar has a bachelor’s degree in biology from Spelman College in Atlanta. She received her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and served her residency in obstetrics/gynecology at Saint Louis University School of Medicine. Her hobbies include cooking, eating out and traveling.
