Amirali Masoumi, MD, FACC, is Medical Director of Cardiac Critical Care and Medical and Interventional Director of the Cardiogenic Shock and Mechanical Circulatory Support Program at Morristown Medical Center. He is an interventional and an advanced heart failure cardiologist, specializing in the diagnosis and management of patients with both advanced coronary artery disease and heart failure, with specific focus on cardiogenic shock, advanced hemodynamic and mechanical circulatory support and complex interventional therapies, including complex percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). After completing medical school in Tehran, Iran, he emigrated to the United States and completed four years of research and clinical fellowship in nephrology, under Dr. Robert Schrier, focusing on heart-kidney interactions. He then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Emory University. Dr. Masoumi completed additional training in cardiovascular disease at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center, where he was elected as chief fellow. He obtained further training in both advanced heart failure, transplant, and mechanical circulatory support, as well as interventional cardiology at New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center.Dr. Masoumi believes in a dedicated multidisciplinary team approach to patient care especially with advanced heart failure and complex coronary disease. He offers world-class knowledge in interventional heart failure and mechanical circulatory support.Involved in many ongoing research protocols, Dr. Masoumi’s research focuses on management and improving the survival of patients suffering from cardiogenic shock.
