Dr. Brian James
Overview
I have always been interested in the impact of exercise on improving overall health since my early days in youth athletics. Prior to medical school, I worked as a certified athletic trainer and personal trainer helping clients with chronic diseases develop individualized exercise programs. I have carried these formative experiences throughout my medical training, where I continue to focus on the basics of health and wellness for all my patients: physical activity, nutrition, and sleep. I was eventually drawn to the subspecialty field of Rheumatology and Immunology where I treat patients with complex inflammatory diseases that affect the whole body and not one joint or organ system. I strive to treat each patient with rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, spondyloarthropathy, and myositis, as a whole person while always considering their personal therapeutic goals and lifestyle.
