Savyasachi “Savya” Thakkar, M.D., is a hip and knee reconstructive surgeon serving patients in the Baltimore, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., metro areas. Ira Gelb, M.D. is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. His practice focuses on minimally invasive approaches to the knee, shoulder, and elbow using the most up to date arthroscopic techniques including Arthroscopic Meniscus Repair using Sutures, ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) reconstruction of the Knee. ACL reconstructions are done with both autograft and allograft tendon depending on the patients need. Techniques using soft tissue grafts allow pediatric athletes to return to full activity.
