Originally from Fort Worth, Texas, Alan Norman graduated Summa Cum Laude from Texas A&M University. He completed his medical doctorate and internship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he earned distinction as an Alpha Omega Alpha honor society member and was active in medical mission work.
