I also was influenced by my own experience with the health care system while hospitalized for appendicitis as a young teenager. In college I majored in neuroscience and behavior, and later worked in a research lab studying autoimmune disorders. Family medicine/primary care provides me the opportunity to form long-term relationships with patients like you, creating a bond for working together on your physical and mental well-being. | Community involvement | During my residency near Boston, I worked with under-insured patients by performing pre-school physicals for children and then connected their families to resources for establishing consistent care. In medical school, I volunteered to teach 5th graders at a Philadelphia public school about healthy lifestyle choices involving nutrition, exercise and mental health. I plan to pursue similar endeavors in the Lehigh Valley. | Personal interests | I enjoy reading or listening to books/podcasts in my free time, which is usually when I drive or during vacations.
