I’m a pediatric cardiologist with a focus on interventional cardiology. We try to find less invasive ways to treat congenital heart disease. We’ve made tremendous advances in the last decade in treating diseases that used to require open heart surgery. We can now treat these with a much less invasive approach. In addition to seeing patients in the clinic, I do procedures in the cath lab like closing atrial septal defects and certain valve replacements. At Duke we collaborate and work well together using a team approach to help our patients. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my two children and getting outdoors. I like to mountain bike, hike and play soccer. Dr. Fleming is rated as an Experienced provider by MediFind in the treatment of Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). His top areas of expertise are Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Cerebral Hypoxia, Transposition of the Great Arteries, Ventricular Septal Defects, and Stent Placement.
