I know that the work that I do isn’t just for the patients who I directly care for, but it affects the whole family. Being a mother and a wife helps bring that perspective to the work I do. I never lose sight of how important it is to treat the whole family and to recognize the effects of disease on it. I became interested in medicine after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. I strive to provide individualized care to my patients, making sure that they understand their diagnosis and all treatment options. I have special interest in treating young women with breast cancer, those with genetic mutation, and women with increased risk of breast cancer. I also pay attention to cosmetic outcomes while completing breast cancer surgery using oncoplastic techniques. I also perform nipple-sparing mastectomy whenever possible and utilizing new techniques such as minimally invasive robotic mastectomy and nipple sensation sparing mastectomies.
