I also treat patients with blood disorders that can be benign (anemias, immune thrombocytopenia, etc.) or malignant (acute and chronic leukemias, myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloproliferative neoplasia, multiple myeloma, etc.). I decided to be an oncologist when I learned from my mentor the ways that providers can improve the quality of life of patients with cancer.
