I was born in Los Angeles, California, and went to college at Stanford University before I began my medical training. My father had always wanted to be a doctor but never could, so I decided to do it. I specialized in vascular surgery because I had two important mentors in medical school who were both vascular surgeons, and I also enjoy the technical challenges of surgery.
