One of my earliest memories was seeing my podiatrist as a young child. My pursuit of a career in orthopaedics has come as no surprise to those around me. Growing up on our family horse farm in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, afforded me many mechanical tasks. Foot and ankle orthopaedics was an obvious choice: the diverse patient population, challenging surgeries, and the ability to help my patients get back to the activities they enjoy most. She had seen several other providers, and they recommended amputation. When I saw her, I decided she would be a candidate for the new, 3-D printed technology, and I was able to do a 3-D bone implant, and now she's walking again. We were able to save her leg.
