I was born in northern Virginia and spent my childhood growing up in close proximity to Washington, D.C. I then attended Virginia Tech, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology but – more importantly – I met my beautiful wife, Karen, to whom I have been married since 2002. Prior to attending medical school, I worked in a number of different health-related fields, including rehabilitation and business administration for a transplant center. Shortly after marriage, my wife and I left Virginia for the sunny state of Florida, where I attended medical school at Nova Southeastern University. While there, I received my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and developed a distinct interest in women’s healthcare. My first delivery as a medical student was my oldest daughter. I completed my residency training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, NC – a residency training program that heavily emphasized outstanding patient care and advanced surgical training. My family continued to grow during my residency as my second daughter was born. I feel it is a privilege to care for women and their families throughout their life.
