Overview
Dr. Kapamajian received his undergraduate degree in Physiological Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles, graduating summa cum laude in 2001 . He then attended the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned his medical degree in 2005. Following this, he completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and went on to finish his residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Illinois, Chicago in 2009.
Dr. Kapamajian returned to Los Angeles and completed his first fellowship in uveitis, under the mentorship of Gary Holland, M.D. at the Jules Stein Eye Institute from 2009 to 2010. From 2010 to 2011 he went on to serve as Assistant Chief of Service at the Doheny Eye Institute, where he was in charge of the day to day activities of the ophthalmology clinic at Los Angeles County Hospital, as well as the clinical and surgical training of USC ophthalmology residents. He returned to the Jules Stein Eye Institute for a final year of fellowship training in glaucoma, under the mentorship of Joseph Caprioli, M.D. from 2011 to 2012.
