When I treat patients (either in the intensive care unit or in the outpatient pulmonary office setting), I not only treat the lungs or the individual disease itself, but the entire patient. | Why I entered medicine | There are so many reasons why I entered medicine. The number one reason is having a career that actually helps people. I meet so many kind and caring patients that I get to know well over the years and these relationships have helped me be a better physician. The field of medicine is ever changing, never becomes routine and allows me to be a lifelong learner. I wanted to be a physician since I was a kid and could not imagine myself doing anything else. | Community involvement | I volunteer frequently at my children's schools and coach my daughter's softball team. The CrossFit community I belong to frequently does community charity events and my family and I often participate. | Personal interests | I love spending time with my husband and three girls!
