After medical school, he completed a one year research fellowship at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA. He went on to complete an Internal Medicine residency at Louisiana State University in Lafayatte, LA and a fellowship in Hematology & Medical Oncology at Oakland University - William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, MI.
