Overview
As a general internist, I provide comprehensive and coordinated patient-centered care to adults. That care includes health maintenance, and the evaluation and treatment of complex illness. My past training and extensive experience in multiple office settings, including primary care and consultative care within several academic practices, provides me a strong balance and framework that allows for improved understanding of my patient’s concerns and ability to work through multiple issues. My various administrative and leadership roles within Duke provide additional insight and opportunity for me to improve the practice of medicine and patient care. I balance my work through my family and international medical volunteerism.

After 20 years of clinical and research experience using low carbohydrate, ketogenic diets, I am continually amazed at how health can be improved by just changing the food that someone eats. I use an approach that is simple and effective, and evidence-based.
