Dr. Perrin is the Bloomberg Distinguished Professor of Primary Care in the Department of Pediatrics and the Schools of Medicine and Nursing. She has a joint appointment in the Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Clinical Scholars Fellowship Program-trained clinician investigator whose area of research expertise is patient-oriented preventive care, health services research, health disparities, and the prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity. "Michael Schweitzer, M.D., developed the laparoscopic bariatric surgery programs at the Medical College of Virginia (one of the first ten laparoscopic gastric bypass programs in the country), Georgetown University, Sinai Hospital of Baltimore and the Johns Hopkins University.
