Dr. Nanette Dacumos was born and raised in Manila, Philippines and attended the De La Salle University and then Manila Central University, where she earned her medical degree. Coming from a family of physicians, Dr. Ume Kakwan knew from a young age that she would pursue medicine. She chose her specialty in geriatric medicine to address a great need in the United States to care for an aging population. 'As people age, their needs change,' she said.
