Jithin Yohannan, M.D., M.P.H. is Boone Pickens Rising Professor of Ophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Yohannan holds a joint appointment at the Malone Center of Engineering in Healthcare. He leads a lab that focuses on using artificial intelligence algorithms to aid in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma patients. He has a background in biostatistics, epidemiology, and mathematics, which enables this effort. His group has developed AI models that forecast high-risk glaucoma patients and is focused on translating these models for clinical application. Additionally, his group aims to understand how we can optimize structural and functional glaucoma testing to improve the detection of glaucoma worsening.
