Dr. Andrew T. Robinson

Dr. Andrew Robinson is a caring and compassionate surgeon, board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He is succeeding Dr. Paul Starker in practice at Overlook Surgical Associates. His expertise is in minimally invasive laparoscopic procedures that spare muscle, tissue, and provide patients with quicker recovery times and improved outcomes. He also has a special expertise and broad experience in complex and recurrent hernia repairs and abdominal wall reconstructions. Dr. Robinson strives to consistently deliver exceptional and individualized patient care.A highly skilled surgeon at Overlook Medical Center, Dr. Robinson also serves as an assistant clinical professor of surgery at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York City.Dr. Robinson earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada. He then performed his internship and surgical residency at Morristown Medical Center, where he received the Hughes D. Dougan, MD, award for outstanding chief resident as selected by fellow residents. He also taught residents at Rutgers-New Jersey Medical School, where he was nominated for a resident teaching award.Previous research that Dr. Robinson was involved in includes the New Jersey Chapter of the American College of Physicians and serving as a research assistant at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle.Dr. Robinson is a member of the American Medical Association and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is part of Atlantic Medical Group and a participating provider of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization.
