Overview
I am a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement and reconstruction. My practice includes nonsurgical and surgical care for osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (and other autoimmune arthritis), and avascular necrosis. I offer partial and total joint replacement, using minimally invasive techniques and cutting-edge methods such as robotic and computer navigation, 3D anatomical modeling, direct anterior total hip arthroplasty, and rapid postoperative recovery protocols with an option for outpatient surgery. My comprehensive approach includes medications, injections, physical therapy protocols, and other interventions aimed at avoiding surgery. I also evaluate and perform revision arthroplasty for failed joint replacements and specialized reconstructions for less common conditions.

I grew up in Durham and I am extremely proud to work here at Duke. All of my family members still call the Bull City home. Most of my education was completed in Durham, except for four years I spent down the road in Chapel Hill. I played football there and developed an interest in orthopaedic surgery that led me home. I specialize in hip and knee replacement and am very fortunate to do so. We have the ability to help so many people with these operations. It is extremely rewarding to help someone get back to doing the things they want to do with their life.
