Dr. Anton Y. Plakseychuk
Overview
Anton Plakseychuk, MD, PhD, received his medical degree from Kazan State Medical University in Russia. He completed an orthopaedic surgery residency and a joint reconstruction fellowship at UPMC. Dr. Plakseychuk also trained in surgical navigation, robotics, and computer-assisted orthopaedic surgery at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. He is fellowship-trained in hip arthroscopy by M. Philippon, world-renowned hip arthroscopy pioneer. Dr. Plakseychuk also trained and worked with Prof. G. Ilizarov, founder of the eponymous revolutionary limb-lengthening procedure, and has 25 years of clinical and research experience in limb lengthening and correction of skeletal deformities. Dr. Plakseychuk provides comprehensive care for patients with hip and knee disorders. He is an expert in minimally invasive direct anterior total hip arthroplasty and in the treatment of avascular necrosis. Dr. Plakseychuk is an experienced hip resurfacing surgeon and has performed over 600 surgeries. Dr. Plakseychuk has over 100 publications and over 30 patents in the field of orthopaedics. Brian R. Hamlin, MD, is a graduate of The University of Texas-Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn. After completion of his military obligation to the United States Air Force, he pursued a fellowship in adult reconstruction at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. From 2006 to 2010, he served as head of the section of adult reconstruction for the Department of Orthopaedics at West Virginia University School of Medicine. Dr. Hamlin joined The Bone and Joint Center at Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC in 2010. He is board-certified in orthopaedic surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. His clinical practice encompasses all aspects of care to the adult hip and knee, including complex primary and revision surgery. Dr. Hamlin has published and presented numerous research projects in advancement of joint replacement, including the examination of new techniques and technologies, and the long term survivorship of implants.
