Dr. Robert D. Fisher

"Dr. Fisher is a surgeon and general urologist that practices a wide breadth of urology in men and women. His passion is helping people when they need it most. His approach to medicine is to listen closely to his patients, clearly explain things in regular terms, and to make shared decisions together. He views the doctor-patient relationship as a partnership.Dr. Fisher's clinical areas of focus include urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, enlarged prostate (BPH), men's and women's health, complex kidney stones, and erectile dysfunction. In 2009, he deployed to Kandahar, Afghanistan for one year as a part of Operation Enduring Freedom. During his time overseas, he found his passion for medicine while assisting with free medical clinics for Afghan civilians. This inspired him to use his veteran education benefits to go to college and become a doctor. He picked urology as a specialty because he enjoys the interesting mix of surgery and clinic medicine, and he appreciates the close relationships that he builds with patients due to the more intimate nature of urology problems.Dr. Fisher moved to Bismarck, North Dakota because he felt a strong sense of community and family atmosphere at St. Alexius Medical Center.
