She worked to develop and launch the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Fetal Care Program and serves as the medical director of the program, working with maternal-fetal medicine colleagues as well as various pediatric subspecialists to provide prenatal consultation and counseling, and to offer a coordinated, family-centered approach to the diagnosis and treatment of fetal anomalies that brings perinatal, neonatal and pediatric specialists to the patient. Her clinical and research interests include perinatal care and counseling, clinical medical ethics, neonatal palliative care and ethical issues at the margins of viability.
