She completed the Ohio State University College of Medicine Medical Careers Pathway Post Baccalaureate Program (MEDPATH) and went on to complete her medical school training at OSU. Her general surgery residency began at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School and was completed at UCSF Fresno.
