Dr. William F. Oellerich earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee at Memphis while concurrently earning a doctorate in philosophy in its Department of Pharmacology. He received his medical degree and Ph.D. degree in cardiovascular physiology from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, prior to accepting the Assistant Professor of Medicine position at the Mayo Medical School.He received numerous awards while at the Mayo Clinic including the Young Investigator Award of the Heart Failure Society of America and the American College of Physicians and Donald C. Balfour Award of the Mayo Clinic Alumni Association for Meritorious Research. Dr. Lisy has been published in numerous medical journals including Circulation, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Hypertension, American Journal of Physiology and Kidney International. Dr. Lisy has been involved in cutting edge research on heart failure for many years including designing peptides for heart failure treatment.Dr. Lisy has expertise in noninvasive cardiology and cardiac imaging modalities after he did his advanced specialty training in nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.
