In high school I was given the opportunity to shadow the neonatologist who took care of me as a child. This experience inspired me, and I soon became an EMT. I worked as an EMT throughout college, which further fueled my desire to pursue medicine. I went to medical school with the intent of becoming a neonatologist. After doing my surgery rotation, It was clear that surgery was my calling. My love for general surgery developed into a passion for minimally invasive and metabolic surgery.
